   THE RED FORT

The Red Fort of Delhi is a most famous historical building. Delhi’s most famous monument, the Red Fort, was built by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in 1648. The main reason for naming this building Red Fort was that it was built with red sandstone.

       Agra Fort

The Agra fort is considered to be the first mughal fort in India. The agra fort was built by the Mughal emperor akhbar and later underwent significant expansions by his successors, jahangir and shah jahan. Construction of agra fort started by Mughal emperor akhbar in 1565 and completed in 1573.

It’s a massive red sandstone fort that served as the main residence of the Mughal emperor until the capital shifted to delhi. The fort complex includes various impressive structures like Diwan-i-Aam ( hall of public audience), Diwan-i-khas( hall of private audience), Jahangiri Mahal, khas mahal, sheesh mahal( mirror palace) and the iconic moti masjid. The fort was one of the first sites in India to registered on the list of UNESEO world heritage listing in 1983.

        Amber Fort

Amer fort is also known as amber fort. The Amer fort is situated at amer, on a hill side. It is 11 KM from jaipur. The Amer fort is also popularly known as the Amer palace. Its construction was began by Raja man singh in the 16th century. It was completed by Raja jai Singh and sawai jai singh in thr 18th century. Amer fort is made of red sandstone and marble.

This palace is divided into four main parts, each wiith its own entrance and courtyard. Diwan-e-Aam means the courtyard of the common people,  Diwan-e-khas means the specific courtyard, sheesh mahal or Jai temple and sukh Niwas etc. Are parts of this fort. This is a splendid example of the fort of Rajasthan. Tourists can enjoy elephant rides in Amer fort. There are underground tunnels that connect Amer fort to jaigarh fort. Amer fort is one of the major tourist attractions in Rajasthan.

  Mehranghar Fort

Mehranghar fort holds the pride of place in jodhpur, considered as one of the most formidable and magnificent forts of Rajasthan. This fort was built by Rao Jodha in the year 1459. The fort is spread over an area of 5 km and is built on 125 Meter high hill in the outskirts of jodhpur city.meha

The main palace located in the mehranghar fort are moti mahal, phool mahal, sheesh mahal, zenana Dude, Takht vilas and Jhanki mahal. Chamundi Devi Temple and Nagnechiaji Temple are also located inside the fort which are dedicated to Goddess Durga and Kuldevi respectively.

      Jhansi Fort

Jhansi fort is the fort of maharani jhansi. The fort situated on the southwestern fringe of uttar Pradesh. The jhansi fort was built by Raja bir singh Deo of Orchha in 1613 on the hill known as Bangara. The fort has 10 gates , khandero gate, Datai Darwaza, Unnao gate, Jharna gate, laxmi gate, sagar gate, orcha gate, sainyar gate, chand gate.

The jhansi fort, a living testimony of ancient glamour and valour, also has a collection of elegant sculptures. There are lord Ganesha and lord shiva temples inside the fort. This fort played a vital role in the revolt of 1857. This is the place where jhansi Lakshmi bai faced the British soldiers. This fort has now become a museum.

      Jaisalmer Fort

Jaisalmer fort is the second largest fort in India. Jaisalmer fort situated in the city of jaisalmer, Rajasthan, India. It is built in 1156 by Rajput Rawal Jaisal founder of jaisalmer.         Gwalior Fort

Gwalior fort is a historical fort located in the city of Gwalior in Indian state of madhya parades. This historical fort was built by Suraj sen. He was a sakarwar Rajput. The fort derives its name from Golla Konda , which is telugu word for shepherd’s hill. The fort has 8 gates.The hand clap at a certain point below the dome can be heard clearly at the ‘ Bala Hisar’ pavilion, which is a kilometer away. It is a Mud fort . The Qutub shahis areign at Golconda ended in 1687 when it was run over by Mughal emperor Aurangzeb, who intentionally left it in ruins. Golconda is known for Diamond trade.
